Mk5 cup holder advice

Postby Tony-1976 » Sat Jan 18, 2020 4:23 pm

Hi everyone collected some mk5 parts today from another forum member for home to discover the cup holder I’ve been sold is missing the part it slots into.
I was lead to believe it just fitted as it is into my current dash this is not the case.
Does anyone here have a spare cup holder they would like to sell or even the prt I’m missing.
I will attach a picture of what I have currently any help would be great.

Yep that is the cup holder.
The other bit would be part of the dashboard I would imagine.

Binned my cup holder and use the void as a place to store my nick nacks now...

You can't get a cup in it now though.

The bits it runs on are inside the dash, there should be one on each side, just behind a latch that locks the cupholder in. Those two runners can fall out, or at least push out of the way. Stick a torch in, you'll see two curved runners, two curve slots with the runners hanging on in there at the end, or just two curved slots with the runners missing, presumed hiding in the dash or up a hoover.
