hi all,

sorry not posted for a while :oops:

i still havent fixed my heater speed control :cry: Iv'e looked down the front nearside/rad area (as suggested by one or two people in here, that post is in the welcome area). does anyone hav a piccy of one? or will it look the same as the one i recently fixed in my mondeo :?:

Any help on this would be geat as winters comin and when the blowers on full i cant hear the radio :!: :D

HIIYA MATE , I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY BLOWER SPEED CONTROL , IT GOT TO THE POINT OF ONLY WORKING ON NUMBER 3 , THE PROBLEM TURNED OUT TO BE A MELTED RESISTOR AND TERMINALS ON THE BACK OF THE SWITCH , ONCE REPLACED HAVENT HAD A PROBLEM SINCE , HOPE THIS HELPS YOU SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM :wink:

Yeah we worked out what the fault was Mark, but he can't find the resister!

ADMITIDLY I HAD MINE SORTED OUT WHILE THE VAN WAS IN FOR A SERVICE , BUT IS IT NOT WORTH LOOKING ON THE BACK OF THE SWITCH ?????

I know on the mk5 it's behind the front grille in front of the rad, so back of the switch might not be the place to look.

Gotta say I've had the van over a year now and my blower only works on full speed just like the last 3 vans. What can I say, bigger fish to fry, might fix it if it packs up.

that would be mk5 smiley front!!!
ive never looked on one of those - i took a wiring loom out of a mk3 for my mk1 pickup the resistor was behind the headlight on that!!! so it should be there abouts on the mk5!!! :D

You will find it behind the grill on the left hand side then I believe, the whole smiley grill comes out with 2 screws.
