Mk5 2.5 turbo compression test

Hi does anyone know what figures I should be looking at getting from 2.5 di turbo engine compression test? And what the lowest acceptable figure is? I know there should be no more than 10% difference between cylinders but what should I be getting?

Using a calibrated tester or off the shelf diy job?

If it's diy then take the max reading with a pinch of salt,but the 10% spread will still apply.

I did one of mine recently, I'm pretty sure the data was in the Haynes manual but I haven't got one here to check.

I've got 31 bar/450 psi in my head and anything below 25/26 bar is getting bad but I'm sure I have the correct figures somewhere.

So if what chug says is correct then we can assume that 245psi with no oil in the bores and 280psi with oil in the bores is definitely too low. Highest reading I can get is 300 psi with oil down the bore and there is definitely 10% variation on the cylinders

Is the turbo engine lower compression then the non turbo I think I’ve seen it somewhere.

Yeah the turbo engine has a lower compression ratio than the non turbo engine.

No its not within 10%

I still cannot find any info to confirm or refute that figure, even had a search with no luck so maybe I dreamt it
but it sounds similar to other diesel engines, and with your low readings and if there is a lot of variation between cyls then it's probably poorly.

I think it is poorly with the variation but just wanted to know how much lower it was than what it should be
