MK3 Facelift

Postby liamcole007 » Tue Mar 30, 2021 10:43 am

Hi!!

got a lovely mk3 86 91 transit - looking to upgrade the front end - mainly because lights will fail mot due to wear. So am thinking is it possible to put a newer mk4 or mk5 bonnet, wings, and all the lights. newbie here! any info is greatly appreciated

bonnet is hanging (bonnet lock also been removed) wings are rusting - both headlights wouldnt pass mot smashed indicator and more damage to passenger side wing. Priced up roughly £180 for parts on ebay, putting some feelers out to see whats possible with the front end to see if spending a little more .. or less can spice it up.

Depends how well you want to do it.
To do it properly you'll need wings, indicators and repeaters, headlights, slam panel, grille and support struts and bonnet.
You might need to change the headlamp support panels, radiator and possibly the panel below the windscreen to match the bonnet but I'm not sure on those bits.

Oh, and I've just remembered that the outer wings have a deeper arch so will leave a gap between them and the inner wings and they won't line up with the wheel arch panel at the top of the arch.
