Postby escort » Wed Apr 07, 2021 8:08 pm

hi ive got a mk4 camper with a 2.5 deseil that has had a turbo and intercooler fitted [profesionaly by TB turbos ] however i noticed a bit of exhaust smoke so i looken in the intercooler intake pipe and thers oil in there ??
is this a sign of turbo oil seal gone??
also anyone know if TB turbos are still trading ? thanks george

Is the smoke blue for burning oil or black for diesel you will always get a slight amount of oil in the intercooler .

TB turbos are long gone - but IIRC correctly they used a standard garrett turbo on the Di.

Its normal for there to be an oily coating, but if you can pour more than a drip or 2 out of an intercooler then there is likely a problem
