Engine type

Postby MartNewm » Fri Apr 16, 2021 2:40 pm

Hi, can anyone clear this up for me?
My camper is a bit of a mystery. It has a banana engine but it’s an 89 van. I know the engine has been changed in the past but I’m wondering what was in it before. The van had a choke cable which obviously points towards a petrol. The engine number on the log book relates to June 88 (JK57292) and it says heavy oil on the log book. The replacement engine came from a 96 van so the log book number must be wrong.
Anyway, I’ve waffled. Any ideas?
What can possibly go wrong?
