Mk5 engine swap

Hello im new here, i want to know if someone can help me with some questions.

I have a ford transit 2500cc 1999 with the banana engine code 4HB, and the engine broke down, I bought a new engine that came with no injector pump, and i noticed after buying it that it doesn't come with the place to put the fuel lift pump located on the exhaust side. The reference of this engine is 4BA.

Can i swap the engine and not use the fuel lift pump with my current injector pump? the reference of the current injector pump on the 4HB is 0 460 414 108.

The 4BA engine is from a mk 3, the 4HB injection pump will work fine on it with its own internal fuel pump, I've got the same engine and have fitted several different injection pumps to it, but if you are worried you can always fit an electric pump.

So I can delete the fuel lift pump that is on the 4HB, and on the the 4BA run the my injection pump without the lines that go to the lift pump?

You don't need the lift pump really - however it does make bleeding after filter changes etc somewhat harder!

Personally I would fit an ign controlled elec fuel pump for a carb engine (probably an SU or facet) which gives a few advantages - even not needing to fill fuel filters before fitment (just turn ign on for 30 seconds before cranking!)
