Steering UJ/coupling

Postby darrenstandard » Wed May 26, 2021 6:13 pm

Hi, I’ve got a MK3 RIGHT HAND DRIVE, SWB transit and want to replace the coupling/UJ that connects the steering rack to the bottom of the steering column ( the top of the steering column has the steering wheel attached to it) . The Ford OE part no I want is 7202202 . The same part was used on all MK4 and MK 5 Transits and as far as I know had the same Ford OE part number (7202202) . Problem is that this crucial RHD version part (which wears on all Transits) seems unavailable. The LHD version of this part is different and won’t fit. It seems unbelievable that the LHD version is freely available, but the RIGHT HAND DRIVE coupling/UJ is supposedly unavailable, despite being used on Transits for about 15 years. The part cannot easily be reconditioned and was originally made to be replaced at minimal cost ( the LHD coupling only costs about £15).
Can anybody help? Does anybody have one of these couplings/UJ’s , which would commonly have been replaced on all types of Transit made between the mid 1980’s and 2000?

Great. Please can I buy a new coupling from you!

It’s crazy that they were such a relatively cheap and common part to want to obtain ( and still are very easily available for LHD Transits) but seem so difficult to get hold of.

Anyway, how can I obtain this new part from you?

This is the first time I’ve ever messaged on any forum like this and I assume that On this site I’m not supposed to message you my phone number or even my email address?

There are no site rules to prevent you doing this, but be aware that this site is visible to absolutely anyone, who may harvest your details for nefarious and possibly criminal purposes.

You may need to make a couple more posts before you can PM another member directly, because the anti spam software prevents newbies from sending them (for the above reason)
If you can PM me, which you should be able to, I can forward them to Matt, although he may be able to contact you directly :)
