Postby escort » Wed May 26, 2021 7:37 pm

hi all
i recently saw a thred regarding an engine smoking and over reving
my question is having followed this thread i am still baffled
how does a missing bolt and a loose bolt cause smoking and over reving? im assuming iol is getting into the combustion chamber somehow?
thanks george

If the centre bolt in the rocker shaft has fell out it lets to much oil into the rocker box and can be sucked into the inlet manifold it is the main oil feed for the rocker shaft and if missing pumps to much oil into the top of the engine.

Yeah, it can literally spray oil in to the breather, which then goes up the inlet tract and gets burnt
