Grill support struts.. Mk4 vs mk5

Postby Chris21r » Sun Jul 04, 2021 9:03 am

Are the mk5 ones the same as the mk4 ones?
Anyone know?

Or have a pair?

Cheers

They're £13 a pair at Central Panels and I think Mk4 and Mk5 are the same but check the picture on their site.

I had a Mk5 grille off today and a Mk4 on the ramp so did some comparisons.

Mk4 - both LH and RH struts are the same, part number 6823331
Mk5 - LH and RH struts are different, part numbers Mk5 LH 1056870 / Mk5 RH 1018788

I didn't try them but the Mk4 struts look like they might be interchangeable with Mk5 RH
I've no idea what Central Panels are selling.

Thanks Keef

I'll have a look for correct mk4 ones.

Out of curiosity, I took them all off and compared them on the bench.
They are all different and not interchangeable,
Mk4 needs specific Mk4 grille support struts.
Pics below, Mk4 is on the bottom, Mk5 RH is in the middle, and Mk5 LH is on the top in both pics
