Bosch conversion 2.5TD

Postby MattR140 » Mon Aug 30, 2021 1:45 pm

Hi Guys new to the site, wondering if anyone can help me? currently doing a bosch conversion on my 2.5TD, I'm using a 150 pump, not sure if this is the correct pump to be using, with timing adjusted for the turbo 0.68mm fuel screw up quarter turn, not sure if this needs adjusting more? there is fuel squirting from the injection pipes but doesn't seem like enough pressure. it has the 100hp injectors and there obviously isn't enough pressure to make these fire as the is no hint of the engine trying to fire. Anything I am missing? will this pump even work or am I flogging a dead horse? any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers

The pop pressure of all the 2.5 injectors is the same. Bigger injectors have bigger/more holes to get more diesel in.

What is this 0.68 figure you talk of? Is that by putting a dti in the back of the pump and advancing from the TDC position? If so I think you are too advanced, its always been 0.54mm iirc.

I'm not aware of the 150 pump, but if it is a transit, then it should run the engine without
