1995 MK4 Transit Central locking

Postby Richie2012 » Tue Oct 05, 2021 1:22 pm

Hello
Just purchased a MK4 transit, and now I can’t unlock the front doors, I can unlock the side door and open the doors from the inside but not with the key.
Any help would be great thank you

What is the problem?
Doesn't the key turn in the lock?
Or does the key turn, but the door does not open?

If its got central locking its either a mk5 (which is what I would expect a 1995 to be) or someone has fitted aftermarket central locking.

Any Ford key will lock any ford lock - but only the correct one will unlock it. I suspect someone has fitted different doors and didn't swap the lock barrels over - so you effectively have the wrong key for the front doors.
