Insurance ideas please

Postby Wotisname » Fri Dec 31, 2021 12:24 pm

Hi,

The Caravan and Motorhome Club have just refused to insure my converted 1994 Transist Ambulance Camper again this year. I have been insured with the Caravan Club for about 12 years. Does anyone know of a company that will provide me with reasonable priced insurance. I am 66 and have never had and insurance claim against me.

Try Sterling van insurance they are part of Adrian Flux http://www.sterling-insurance.co.uk/
Aviva wouldn't renew mine because of the van age but Sterling would and were slightly cheaper than my last year's renewal with aviva.

Might be worth trying AIB. They insure my '91 converted ambulance ( to campervan). Unless asked I wouldn't say it used to be an ambulance if it is now a campervan.

Nfu classic commercial insurance. Commercials over 15 yrs old. I pay about £120 a yr per vehicle, I have at least 3 on their books. Does hgvs and everything. Just say it's classic commercial didn't bother mentioning camper conversion. I say it's for going to shows and private runs. Unused them for around 7 years. May need to be a nfu member to get it. I became a member by insuring an imaginary caravan for £50, first year only.

Remember, If you have had insurance refused for any reason, You must declare it when asked. Insurance companies will try anything to get out of paying a claim.

Is this the National Farmers Union? I couldn't find anything on their website.

I deal with my local office.
Try ringing your local office, it's not something they advertise, you have to ask.
