The bonnet release cable on my 97 mk 5 transit has become detached and I can't get the bonnet open
Please help

It happened too many years ago to remember, but I did it either by lying under the front and reaching upwards to pull the lock, or from the front with a screwdriver.

if you get underneath, reach up the strut on the back of the radiator, pull the plastic bit at the top away and you can reach the latch

Helps if you have someone pressing on and off the bonnet while trying to release the catch from the underneath.
Helps relieve the spring tension
