Mk5 1995 airbag light

Postby Ransettimies » Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:53 am

Hi

Airbag light is working right at start, lights up for couple seconds and then go off.

Now its been randomly blinked while driven. Its fast blink you just noticed at dark. It can blink at any circumstance even smooth road (bumps/holes wont cause it).

What is typical problems? Its driver side airbag (only sirbag in my van) and there is no seat sensor for it.

I've just had the same on a Peugeot van and it was a partial cable break in the squib ring (also called the slip ring or clock spring)

My '97 didn't have one, but I believe it was an option on that year :?

Is it likely to be a poor connection on the airbag module :?:

I'm not saying this is the problem...

But I haven't seen another new one available before

Does the light not blink a fault code? If it does, you would have a better idea of where to look
