noise when under heavy load

Postby drivetheglobe » Sat Jan 15, 2022 5:16 pm

Hi,

My old Camper, 1997, 2,5D, twin wheel, long wheel base gives some unpleasant mechanical noise...

Had the clutch repaired this summer in Croatia. Mechanics where a disaster - cheating and let me drive home 900km with a broken skrew on the cardan shaft  , but reached home savely.
Made lot of noise when the camper went uphill under heavy load and turn fall below certain value, on 2nd 3rd gear. Nothing on 5th gear.
At home my mechanics changed the 2 shaft mounting, and maintained all srews and grease.
Had the feeling was better then, but after some while the noise is back. Think not a bad as the beginning but still there: I must not drive uphill with low turn in gears below the 5th.

So I wonder: is it still the cardan shaft? When build in cannot feel any play when trying to move/turn by hand.

Any hints welcome where this noise could come from, or how to decide this.
