i had brakes fail on our other hicube about a month ago from what i have found out you cant get a repair kit but i might be wrong make sure you clean the 2 pipes out if not they will block up quickly mine did it resulted in 2 vac pumps in 2 days it also nearly ended in a seized engine as the pipe blows off under pressure and sprays oil all over the disk used 20 litres of oil to get back home :(

That's the vacuum pump, and I doubt you can service it.

normally vac pump packs up when the oil isnt changed regular enough, the oil gets thick and the feed into the pump is like a pinhole, normally someone who buys one will buy another soon, until you tell them about the oil.

Poor oil maintainance was a common cause of the pumps failure, but far more common was the excessive wear of the drive spines on the rear of the alternator.

In most cases people replaced the badly worn vacuum pump, but neglected to look at the altenators splines. 2-3 months later the vehicle suffered vacuum assistance loss again because of yet more spline wear.

The better solution is to retro fit the later mitsubishit altenator (internal fan) and vac pump and modify the wiring to suit.
