Epic Multiplug removal

Postby Dave2504 » Fri Jul 01, 2022 3:22 pm

Hi All

After studying a lot of topics on here, I invested in Forscan and the ELM 327 from Tunnelrat. I have the 97 Smiley TDi.

Engine warning light came on a few weeks ago.Off and on.Added diesel treatment etc seemed to settle down, but now on permanently.

Ran Forscan and codes: P1644 Fuel pump and P1189 Pump speed sensor\wiring fault.

Need to check multiplug connections (seen on here water and corrosion can be issue).

Question is how does the plug come off the Epic pump? Is it twist and pull? Seems stuck.

Thanks

Dave

Hi Matt

Thanks for your reply. I can't see a red tag, could it be the white one? Photo attached

Thanks for your help Matt.

As suspected, water in plug and corroded contacts.
One pin broke off. Managed to reconnect it.
Cleaned them up.

Limp mode light now off. Been OK now for a week.

Happy days.
