1996 diesel No dashlights cranking but not starting.

Hi all my dads campervan 1996 for transit diesel will crank but wont start and the dashlights are not working any ideas? He is a mechanic and is certain its something electrical. Thanks for any ideas.

My bet is either a blown master fuse (next to the battery) or a faulty ignition relay (in the fuse box)

If nothing that is ign powerd is working then maybe the ign switch ? or check the ign switch multiplug under the steering colunm (square black 4 pin multiplug ??) , ive known these to melt if the heater is used on max for long periods
