Anyone got a Epic pump rotor position sensor?

Postby Fordtractorman » Thu Jun 01, 2023 9:00 am

Hello,
After doing resistance measurements on my sensor on rear of EPIC pump, im getting reading of 150 ohms on rotor position sensor, located at inbetween the four injector pipes. Books say 48 to 60 max. So my sensor may be knackered.

It not leaking, which seems to be a common thing. Just causing my engine to rev up and down, not always going back to tickover speed, poor/rough idling, and eventually spitting out error 1171.

My pump is a DSA1190. I THINK part number for this sensor is 7186-009 - Could someone confirm this? Many fuel shops arent helpful as soon as you mention EPIC.

And does anyone have a source for new ones?

They only have an o ring, circuit board, coil and thermistor inside, could just be a bad solder joint, or new thermistor needed, probably fix it for a few quid, worth a look if its fecked anyway, or https://www.dieselinjectionpartsonline. ... -7186-009/
