MK4 differential bearing part number

Postby QuebecTransit » Thu Jul 20, 2023 3:10 am

Hi all, I'm trying to find the part number for the MK4 differential bearing kit. I'm in Canada and my differential is whining a lot.

I'm also trying to find a website that has them in stock.

Regards.

I'm not sure how to figure out my diff type.

Issue is I'm in Canada and Ford Canada is absolutely 0 help.

VIN is : WF0AXXGBVAXY28525 (if that helps).

Issue is really that Ford Canada is telling me: "I don't know this vehicle, go f*** yourself!" (it's imported from France as it was never sold here).

Edit: I've ordered the Haynes manual. Hopefully it has diagrams showing part numbers. Otherwise is there another ressource to figure out part numbers?

follow-up. I appear to have a 4.63 differential.

Now... does anyone know if the axles are compatible with the Dana axles available in America?

Yes... I know, I keep posting on my own thread!

I found this. I'm not sure if it will fit though. Anyone here have the expertise to help me?

Look on Catcar for part numbers using your Vin number at the top of the page here https://www.catcar.info/ford/?lang=en

to find the axle type use your VIn plate and ID it here viewtopic.php?f=31&t=10363

Thanks for the help! Got everything I needed except for my exhaust manifold and gasket. Part numebers 6191338 and 1056838. Can't find someone who ships to Canada. Might have to try finding someone who welds cast iron.
