Highcube lower body panel.

Postby twin wheel camper » Sun Aug 20, 2023 9:54 pm

Hello I’m after for my 1998 highcube transit the panel behind the rear wheels (lower panel)
Does anyone know if they are still available? It’s going to be pattern part which is better than nothing!
I remember people talking on here that the panel is actually from a mk3 rather than a mk5 because mine is a twin wheel but I’ll be happy for anything close at all because I’m sure the mk5 panels will be hard enough to find let alone a
Mk3!!!!!
Any info appreciated.

Hicube and longcube are mk3 at the rear.
Not to be confused with ordinary high tops

Look on Central Panels website for availability if not already done so

Central panels haven’t any listed from what I can see.
In fact most things for mk5,s seem to be no stock with them :(

This panel of any use?

https://www.centralpanels.co.uk/product ... el-rh-002/

Can't remember how close the rear section is to the side shape wise without looking at the van in front of me....

Will be looking for panels for my hicube in the not too distant future too

That is for in front of the rear axle I think?
The parts I need are the panel from the rear axel to below the tail lights on both sides.
I have found them this evening on another site can’t remember which off hand but will post it up when I take another look but they are £75 each side plus postage but that won’t bother me but it would be nice if they can be got cheaper elsewhere :P
I think it’s getting to the point now that if you need any panels for the older transit you need to buy them soon or they might disappear and be unavailable :x
I’m going to really poke around mine and anything that is going or will be needed at a later date I’m going to buy the repair panels to keep incase they do become unavailable.

Car Body Panels 4U
That’s the site listing them repair panels that I think is correct for a mk5 single wheel van,
Mine is a twin wheel but that’s about all I can find and I’m sure they won’t be that different with any luck…….

IIRC the panel for the twin wheeler is the same as the single but with the lip in the arch cut away.

Was discussed in June here...

My write-up for the same job is here...

The panels I bought had the part number on them, I'll look at my original photos, I should still have them.

Your how to is absolutely excellent and will be so helpful when I start to finally get my bodywork started.
Like most things I’ll take my time and learn as I go, my brother is a 35+years body man who is truly one the best in the land at anything body related except he won’t look at rust
Ah well never mind he still will be useful for advice even if he won’t actually do anything with this old van :P
