Turbo oil restrictor

Postby meerkatmag » Sun Sep 03, 2023 12:38 pm

Fitting a turbo to my 2.5di. is it wise to use an oil restrictor? I've read that even on journal bearing turbos its still a good idea.

I’ve never worked on a turbo engine with a restrictor in the oil line all been fed from the main oil gallery the best thing to kill a turbo is low or no oil pressure. That’s why you should never turn the engine off without letting the turbo slow down that’s why I can’t believe that some muppet came up with stop start idea.
