Mk5 2.0l petrol DOHC Transmission Fluid

Afternoon all,

Quick question on the back of an earlier query...which was RE quantity of transmission fluid.

My query is what is the correct type of fluid for the gearbox for the engine noted in The Topic? I have read loads of posts mentioning the major problems of selecting the correct type. After typing my Reg into Halfords' search bar it states MVMTF 75W90. But there are numerous posts saying stay clear of this. I'm confuzzled. Anyone who can help point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

MVMTF will be okay, but its not the correct fluid.

In theory MVMTF meets all the specs for this gearbox and many others - but im not convinced (Multiple Vehicle Manual Transmission Fluid)

MT75 oil is correct (its an MT75 gearbox!)
