MK5 SMILEY steering wheel removal ??? how??

Steering wheel column is one central splined threaded post.

But no twin holes for steering removal kit. What do you use....sledgehammer? there is nothing to lever on under it as you would
damage to security system, wiper and light stalks.

or the bang it on all four corners trick and then yank it wards

YES have added oil to spline

or use hammer under it .

got it to work...hammered central spline with nut slightly above threads of spline to protect it, and then pulled up with knees

added lithium grease

note arrow on spline with original direction and replaced

Glad you got it usually I put the nut back on a few threads so the wheel doesn’t come off and hit you and pull and wobble the wheel like a deranged monkey till it comes off had a problem on a truck once that this didn’t work so got a big gorilla to remove it

I undo the nut and then hammer one side, then the other using fists or wobble it.

Always comes off.
