Di Vs TDi cylinder head compatibility.. need a replacement

Postby LukeJones » Tue Sep 03, 2024 5:14 pm

Hi all, new to the group, here to help out a German friend with finding a head for his beloved 1992 Transit camper. He lost compression, head inspected and found cracked in multiple places. The bottom end has been fully rebuilt and he's searching for a head for his 2.5l Di, 51kW (68HP)
Part Number for the head: 924F-6050-AB

Is there any cross compatibility with 6050BC or 6090C.. or by some miracle are pretty much all 2.4 and 2.5 heads suitable with the turbo oil feed and return plugged? I noticed the head gasket is the same for all.
Thanks , Luke

Any 2.5Di head - with the same injector type - will be absolutely fine.

Turbo heads are also the same - except they have a recess to lower compression. I would not advise fitting a head from a turbo to a non turbo engine.
