MK5 2.0 TDCi 2003 Transit minbus Reverse switch

Complete newbie here, inherited this van and it's going string but has it's MOT soon and the reversing light don't work - neither does the aftermarket reversing sensor engage (bulbs and fuse are OK). They both used to and then you had to shove/wiggle the gear stick to get them to work, then they both stopped. So I'm assuming it's the reverse switch - but I can't find it.

I have found this but it's got 3 pins and more research suggests that's the speed sensor. Although it looks like it's got an wire spliced in that's not original (it's just loose in the engine bay, not in a loom) so I don't know what that's for.

Can anyone tell me where it is in relation to that and ideally show me where it is on their MK5? It's 2.0 diesel, pretty sure it's TDCi, 5 speed FWD.

have a look here and pick your gearbox then you will see where the reverse light switch is, look under the case section.
