Hi everyone, VG1997 Kim and I have been in contact earlier, both in Tassie, he broke a tappet when adjusting the tight buggers and bought a head off me, replacing the tappet. I said I was going to update Epic to Bosch post and saw this. He was right saying lift pump, because he had checked the fuel output at the filter and sh*t house, he had a new lift pump and texted saying problem solved when he replaced it. We discussed this, power reduced but no missing to suggest an injector or timing belt. It had to be fuel as Ralph said, no missing so fuel to all injectors, new fuel filter, so not that, either a piece of crap in the fuel line or lift pump, and luckily it was the lift pump.
Added info, inside the fuel tank, the uptake line has a shower head like steel filter to stop bigger objects being sucked up. Having used 20ltr plastic jerry cans a lot, I often look inside to see what's in there other than fuel. This is because once I noticed two 5cent, 8mm sized bits of black rubber in the bottom of one fill, and although never seeing that again, I still check the jerry can. I wouldn't see that filling the van fuel tank, but over years there's a possibility something foreign is in there.
You need height to drop the fuel tank down and get it out under the side, also hardly any fuel if possible, to store in jerry can, and weight wise.
