How hard to find parts for Mk 3 Transit in UK?

Postby BeccyFairy » Tue Apr 08, 2025 8:33 am

Hi everyone

Just wondering what your experiences are of finding parts for mark 3 transits in the UK? I’m considering buying one. I don’t mind putting in some time to find parts (I used to have a 1991 truck so am used to contacting breakers etc) but just wondering HOW hard it is and whether I’m letting myself in for a complete nightmare?! Any info would be great

Thanks :)

It depends what your looking for. Some bits are harder than others.

I'm not aware of a single mk3 thats been taken off the road/scrapped because someone couldn't find a part? Certainly not someone who could actually be bothered to look - rather than just taking the word of a motor factor.

Thanks MinorMatt, that’s good to know! I was hopeful it would just be a case of putting in some effort but someone (who knows about old vehicles) had said they thought it would be hard to find parts for them so thought I’d better check :)

I hope that the situation is better in the UK, but I did not find the front suspension arms in Ukraine. Perhaps I did not search well and did not contact Exist. Perhaps I could have found them there, but the prices there are very high. It was easier for me to install the arms from the MK4 after a small modification.
