2.5di Gearboxes

Looking into an automatic conversion onto the back of a Di.

I know the standard Transit auto box is the A4LD beastie, but are there any other straightforward fits out there?

Just trying to increase the options on availabilty

No, except the C3 from a pre 1988 2.5Di

But unless you want to fit the lucas EPIC system, you want a pre 1994 A4LD. I think there is one on ebay at the moment?

Guessed Tranny auto boxes would be rather thin on the ground, didn't realise was same one in other fords.
i'm imagining still not a common box.
Looking into viability of a disabled use camper arrangement, obvious first step being the changing of gears.
Had considered heresy, like dropping in a Merc OM602 and matching box, as much easier for me to get hold of.
Will look up the flebay one

Transit bods arn't bothered what engines you fit

BMW M47(?) seem quite popular at the moment. The auto gearbox on those actually bolts up to the propshaft (if you drill an extra hole)
