Lucas pump to Bosch emissions test

Postby colinmoy » Thu May 01, 2025 12:07 pm

Hi all,
I’ve got a 1999 Ford Transit 2.5 Turbo Diesel that’s a motorhome. I recently replaced the Lucas diesel pump with a Bosch pump, and also fitted a new EGR valve.

My question is:
Will the EGR valve still function properly with the Bosch pump, or is it no longer active after the swap?

The reason I’m asking is that I’m based in Germany, and the van needs to pass the emissions test for the TÜV (MOT). I want to be sure the EGR system is actually doing its job, or if there’s something else I need to adjust or modify to stay compliant.

If anyone’s done a similar conversion or knows how the EGR behaves with the Bosch setup, any advice would be really appreciated.

Cheers in advance!

After the mot I will blank it! Also any hints on passing the emissions test would be great!
Cheers
