2.5di no manifold gaskets?

Postby trannynick » Sat May 03, 2025 1:31 pm

Afternoon all. Currently in process of replacing the twin downpipe on my 96 duetto, I have managed to get it all off, had to take manifold and downpipe off in one piece, it had snapped at the flexi, got it apart carefully without snapping anything, i see there is no gaskets between the manifold and the head, ive seen this on a pinto once too, i dont think there was any leaks in that area but if they were they were small, whats the deal, bolt it back up, bolt it up with some assembly paste or buy gaskets? Thanks guys. Pipe was from BM catalysts, only place that did the twin pipe version.

From new they never had gaskets but normally the manifold flanges will warp a bit when taking it off, personly i'd fit a gasket set.
