Transit front nbrakes

I have a 1998 Transit (smiley) and the MOT has advised new front disc pads Can you advise the necessary torque settings for the calipers and discs? Thanks TBH

I've only ever done the calipers up tight as for the torque setting for the discs they are not bolted on.

I think you'll find they are!

Do the bolts up tight with a 3/8ths ratchet and bend the locking tabs back into place, simple as that really.

disc retaining bolts are 50Nm

Caliper carrier to hub assembly is105Nm

Caliper to carrier torx bolts are 25Nm

They're bolted on from the back with a retaining plate, one for three bolts and the other for two

Oh dear
Just make sure you've got a decent hammer and a bit of plywood or similar to put under the hub assembly to evenly beat around the disc to get it off, if your going not to use the old discs that is..

why not just do them up really tight i always do all bolts like that, althought ive sheared a few off before

Disc to mounting bell Tightening Torque 14.0Nm (10.5 lbs ft).
And a whole lot more calories with the hammer to get off

Remove the 5 bolts from the disc and then beat it off befor removing the hub

I would just like to know if the discs are past there best and your advised to change them too because its not necessary to change discs with new pads. To do just pads its (I think) 45 torxs on the caliper flip down and replace if it wont undo its (I think) 19mm bolts to remove caliper from the hub.

I though that 12mm disc thickness was minimal and of course if badly worn would be a reason to change them.
