Correct Tyres for my Tourneo

Postby GrahamT » Fri Dec 02, 2005 11:59 pm

Hi, can anyone tell me for sure what the correct tyres are for my 1995 Tourneo? Anyone have a handbook... handy??

14" standard alloy wheels.

Mine are 205/70 R14 and was advised to fit reinforced last time but I'm not sure whether they have to be reinforced or Commercial tyres or are standard car tyres ok??
Also, what speed rating??

FMD was hopeless, told me 185/80 and couldn't tell me the tyre pressures!!!

Cheers,
Graham

See the car tyres thread in the Techical Questions and Answers section. I have a 1995 Torneo I have the handbook and the 205/70R14 (non commercial) are what are specified! If you want a copy of the relevant sheets I can probably scan and email.

HIYA GRAHAM , WHEN I HAD MY STANDARD ALLOYS , 205-70-14 WAS THE TYRE I FITTED , I WENT FOR REINFORCED FOR INSUREANCE PURPOSES , THE BOOK DOES SAY NON COMMERCIAL BUT I WOULD BE CAREFUL WITH THAT , THE 205-70-14 TYRE REINFORCED WILL COST ABOUT £50 FITTED :D

LIKE FRANK SAID THERE IS A THREAD GOING ON THIS SUBJECT
http://www.fordtransit.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2706
BUT I HAVE COME TO THE DECISION THAT I AM GOIG TO STAY WITH COMMERCIAL TYRES , SAVES THE WORRY OF IT ALL , IF ANYTHING DOES HAPPEN IT WILL SAVE A BIG DEBATE WITH THE TRAFFIC COPS AND INSURANCE COMPANY
