Postby rover » Wed Dec 07, 2005 9:00 pm

As the title would suggest I have at last bought myself a CD player for the old gal.

No big deal I just thought I'd share my joy with you 8)

£46+ kev that's a decent price..

I bought a Clarion Cd tuner for sam's Suzuki wagonR+ thing and that cost 250 quid including the new set of 4" speakers.

Theres a hell of a lot of speed humps round here and it seems to be happy enough :D

I think the problem with many of the older CD players was the 'read ahead' was too short, the first one I had in my car did the jumping thing, but now most have around 5 secs 'read ahead' so unless you are driving down a farm track or the likes it doesnt affect them so much.

I've got the Ford 6006e six cd player in mine, I had it in a previous ford so I just transfered it. It plays some cds fine, others don't play at all, most just skip horribly at the tiniest bump. I just don't think it was designed with transit suspension in mind. If I pull it out off the dashboard and put it on the seat next to me it plays just fine!
