pump cap??

hi again,on top of my fuel pump[bosch i think],there,s a red cap,when you pop it out there,s an allen screw with two locknuts on,anyone got any idea,s what it is,cheers :?

its to turn the pump up or down , cant remember how you do it but there is a topic on that

look under technical 'prombles and qustions' then 'Can you get More Power from a transit non-turbo engine' it says all about it there

Ahh very wise... :) mine's slow but i still aint touching that thing.

Black smoke on acceleration and stationary revving may well be egr valve. Starting could be battery not 100%

Be careful with that screw if you decide to have a play, it's NOT actually the max fuel screw.
it's an adjustment for the midrange fueling, but tweaking it will often bring about reduced smoke or increse power on the road.

The real max fuel screw is protected on the back of the pump with a crimped metal anti tamper device. it's covered on the 95--> vehicles by either the black plastic solenoid cover or on later vehicles the steel cover.

seen that many things on here about the egr are valveits got my head spinning lol,dont know if i should touch it or not?

i did it to mine and in got more power , it smoked abit more but nothing bad ,i did many miles with it and it was fine

no probs with egr mod, done loads of miles since, also had an mot with no probs, its better on juice as well. wished i had done it ages ago
