speed 3 on heater not working

as above the 3rd speed isnt working have replaced the resistor have checked all the wiring have checked fuses and everything else i can think off any ideas before i put the dash back in :) speeds 1+2 both work fine :?

Yeh that is strange mate, on mine 1 & 2 wouldnt work but 3 did , changed the resistor and it sorted it out :?

Will be a melted plug on the back of the speed knob.

right have looked at it it looks ok but i cant unplug the damm thing so it would suggest that it has melted itself to the socket :x any idea how to get it out with breaking anything else :lol: :lol:

I take the centre section of dash out it makes life alot easier.

ye i have got all that out and can get both hands in but cant unclip the plug have just sliced a chunk out one of my fingers trying to get it off :twisted: i will try 2 pairs of waterpump pliers and see if that will do the trick :?

right i have got the bugger out melted :? more like bloody cremated :lol: anyway have just phoned up breakers and they shut at 3 :( looks like i will be over there first thing tommorow thanks mrmpuk right as always :lol: how do you go about puting the new plug back on i thinking of snap lock connectors what do you reckon :?

I have to ask and I am not trying to be cruel, but does anything actually work on your van as you seem to have replaced just about everything.

it did till i got my hands on it :lol: :lol: everything i touch breaks :( nah the heater didnt work at all when i got it i put a ressitor on and had speeds 1+2 and then today i started on clocking the speedo back upto 80k and thought i would take a look at the heater so at the mo the dash is in bits :)

If you mean you are going to cut the plug off the one at the csrappy and cut yours off too then you really need some 30amp connecting blocks, if you use snap connectors you will be back at sqaure one in no time cos they will just melt the same as the original plug :?

right connecting blocks like the sort you use on 240v wiring the clear plastic type??? with the brass screws in the middle???

ye am going to cut it off and join up as to replace that part of the loom is going to be a nightmare :roll:

Sorry I missed that bit before, crimps are what you want I would say the yellow ones on that size cable! I wouldn't use snap lock connectors on anything!
