speed 3, 2 and 1 not working.

I read with interest the posting on heater speed three as my fan only 'seems' to work on speed three with the air conditioner on.

My Mechanic had a quick look at it said the fault was in the switch, a replacement here in Australia is over AU$200.00, I don't know how they make them so cheap Falls of chair laughing).

All the fuses are fine, I pulled off the cover under the switch that covers the fan box and found a green relay, no sign of burn out when I lifted the cover off it.

I need to get to the back of the switch but how do I remove the middle dash that holds the clock radio and so on

PS If I select speed 3 and push the selector in the electric cooling fan on the condenser runs, and air flow, but nothing else gets me any air flow

dash is a pig to get off easiest way without breaking anything is remove steering wheel remove the trim that surrond the speedo then you should get to the 2 screws easily that hold the centre dash on then its acase of carefully prizing of the rest of the dash as its just clipped on then to get the heater controls out there are 2 more screws located in the pen holder also remove the ash tray as this allows better access watch your fingers tho as its all bloody sharp behind there good luck

I removed the ash tray earlier today hoping get a better look, and had a look at the pen holder but could not see any screws there?
1030 pm now so will have try again after I finish a few jobs in the morning.

Thanks for the tip, not looking forward to ripping the wheel and most of the dash out, but not much choice by the sound of things.

Another 'minor' complication is the radiator water level sensor I installed is between the two areas I need to remove tucked under the bottom edge with a big red light in the first blank switch slot, it also has an audible alarm.
