Postby Valsheda » Wed Apr 13, 2005 7:20 pm

I DONT KNOW IF ANYONE HAS THOUGHT ABOUT MAKING ENQUIRIES ABOUT PURCHASING ONE OF THESE ,

I WILL SAVE YOU ALOT OF PHONE CALLS ,

I RANG AROUND A FEW VARIOUS MANUFACTURERS A WHILE AGO , WHILST DREAMING ABOUT HAVING ONE ON MY VAN , THE ONLY ONE THAT WOULD SUPPLY AND FIT A STAINLESS SYSTEM WAS ,
POWERFLOW EXHAUSTS , HAVE A LOOK AT THEIR WEBSITE THEY HAVE LOCATOR MAP SO YOU CAN FIND A SUPPLIER NEAR YOU ,

THEY QUOTED ME £450 BIG ONES FOR A , FULL STAINLESS SYSTEM INCLUDING A CAT BYPASS PIPE WHICH CAN BE REMOVED WHEN YOU GO FOR MOT AND YOUR CHOICE OF TAIL PIPE FROM A LARGE RANGE .

I wonder if you can do anything to the ecu to avoid this and run cat-free??

I once put a non cat exhaust on a cat sierra dohc and it ran fine just left the lambda sensor in the down pipe but there's no ecu light on a sierra (i know the sierras have slightly different injection system though :? )

im just wondering if you can fit a pre-cat sierra ecu and run cat free!! :?
or mabe it's a bit more complicated than that???

Just a thought

non cat exhaust?

Postby trannytech » Sat Apr 16, 2005 11:26 pm

if its a fairly early model shouldn't put ecu light on because lambda sensor only measures gases before cat so it womt know if its there or not as long as the sensors still fitted in to the exhaust system on the later models there are two sensors one before and one after the cat then it would cause a problem

HIYA ,

MY VANS YEAR IS 95 , AND I CAN ONLY SEE ONE SENSOR BEFORE THE CAT , NOT SURE IF THERE IS ANOTHER ONE AFTER ,

I WAS TALKING TO SOMEONE THE OTHER DAY ABOUT CAT/CONVERTORS AND THEY RECKONED THAT IF THE CAT BUSTS THAT IT WILL MUCK UP YOUR ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM :? IS THIS TRUE

ONLY IF DO CHOOSE TO PUT AN EXPENSIVE EXHAUST ON AND THIS COULD HAPPEN , I WOULD BE VERY
