where to go for service & mot?

Does anyone know where's good for service and mot?

Tried kwikfit & HiQ but they say can't take 3.5t on the ramps!

The van is 1997 190 lwb td and I live in croydon, south london

I'm sure you know this but council MOT stations have no vested interest in repairing your car so they won't fail it unfairly, they take heavier vehicles and they have to allow the public to use them as well as doing their own vehicles. I don't think i'd use an ordinary garage again for an MOT.

Why do they need to put it on a ramp to service it? Are they no allowed to lay on the floor like the rest of us do? Namby pamby bloody wusses

go to a class7 mot place there usually ok if not try your ford stealer they usually have 4 ton ramp

I also very much doubt that your van is 3.5 tonne unless you take it in fully laden!

exactly when my van goes to the fraud dealer it usually goes on a 2.5t ramp i just think they dont want your custom your better off avoiding these sort of places

The last place i would take my van is a ford dealer unless you have an excessive income that is,

Just imagining a giant wedge of cheddar!
I know what you mean though, when I had the tracking done on my van it took me ages to find a place with a ramp that could take it. The probelm was the length though not the weight.
My MOT is due next month, I can't take it to my usual place and to make matters worse my van has been uprated by Thames Valley to 3850kgs!
Is your van still the standard 3500?

stevew. i see you are in london. i take all my motors to royton express in old welwyn. you dont have to book it in. just turn up and que. they do everything from cars, vans, limos, etc. they have a drive thru, so no ramps. i will have a look to see if they have a web adi.
