Mk3 to smiley

I did a search honest.... doing a smiley conversion on a mk3 - apart from lights an a bonnet - what else ? do you need the front panel ?

As far as I know the 'Slam panel' is the same, but I think the front wings are slightly different.
You will need the front bumper too.

Wings for definate are different . . just in front of the indicator repeater. In the MK3 the bodyline continues to the front of the wing...in the MK5 it doesn't . . it stop just behing the indicator repeater. This I know as I sized up a MK3 wing to the front of my MK5 . . come to think of it aren't the repeater lights a different shape

is it different mk4 to mk5 how cos my mk4 has the mk3 one on

mate mk4 is defo different to mk5 and i always thought that mk3 was different to mk4 maybe not (i tried fitting mk4 bonnet to mk5 latch is 6 inches towards the middle on the mk4

ah right im 95% sure i fitted the mk3 slam - i can check i still have the mk4 one - they may have got mixed when they were on the floor!!

so a mk5 bonnet wont fit on my mk4 without fitting a mk5 slam i didnt realsie that - its amazing how many little changes there are between each mk i didnt realise mk3s were so different to mk4s untill i just broke these 2 together

ye mate you need the matching slam panel as ifound out ended up redrilling the bonnet and using riv nuts to relocate the striker
