auto box probs yet again

hi,
my auto/a4ld does not run as well as it did before the mot
even a slight incline it will only crawl up 5mph
goes great in reverse

it changes up gears quite fast ! yet only going slow
and dont have any kick down
changed oil/clean filter/adusted cable/ and adusted band
still the same
! will taking out out the front servo/valve & clean ! help

! any ideas

Sounds like your vacuum modulator needs changing, or the governor needs cleaning

What happens when you use the gears manually

manually a bit sluggish pulling away etc
and in 1 up a steep hill 5mph where as normal it used to flie up

! i think they cooked the oil, while doing the mot and then changed the oil
it was over full and very looked clean, to the filter & sump

? would the air cleaner heat control vacuum valve affect the modulater/because thats packed up
its still got the vacuum going to it. but the air flap dont work now

? does cleaning the mod/gov mean taking the sump of again

So did you instruct them to change the oil and filter in the transmission

It could be the torque converter's stator slipping

i just asked for engine oil & filter change to help with the mot exhaust emissions

the air filter box intake flap for cold start works of a vacuum
its just me clutching at straws

just gone and and brought another van 1997 2.5td auto of ebay again
