MK 5 headlights in Europe

Postby keliuss » Tue Dec 08, 2009 7:10 pm

First post here. I've a 95 lwb that I'll be taking to Spain soon. I bought a set of Eurolite converters but the older transit doesn't feature in the instructions. Can anyone point me to a jpg of a rhd transit with eurolites fitted or even homemade blinkers. I have the TIS but I'm damned if I can find a template on it. Cheers. :D

Hi, i've been abroad many times in my mk5, save money! DIY.!!
Park in front off a wall about 1.5mts away at night! turn on your headlights and look at the pattern created on the wall, you will notice that the beams on both sides have an angle going upwards to the sides, it is this angle going up that you need to black out if you imagine a semi circle with the top flat you will see the lit angle, cant help you with a diagram or pic, i always use black insulation tape and have never had a prob, regards, Hugo

A lot of people worry about this. God knows why. Just put some tape or something on the top left side of the lights (make it look proffessionel though). The French police arn't going to stop you because of that, and at night you'll find that most headlights are pointing any which way but right ! And when you get to Spain they care even less !!
