PATS System

Postby johnsgotwood » Fri Dec 11, 2009 12:04 am

The PATS on my transit has been bypassed by the previous owner who probably lost the red key. I'm not concerned about the running of the van but I am a bit worried about my insurance. Obviously they would have allowed for my van to have this working as this info I pressume would be available to them on their database.

I am toying with the idea of taking it to ford and having the system reinstated with a new key. Is it possible for them to programme a new key or will it require a new module etc. Or am I just being paranoid?

That maybe the case, but proud mk5 owners like myself have a bond formed with their van which they intend not to be broken by some small minded chancer!

My mk4 is pre-pats so i have an alarm (with immobiliser),Killtech lockshield & a disclok when left in "rougher" areas :o
Anyone who can be arsed to get round those after busting a lock/window to pinch a mk4 had better just ask & i`ll give `em the keys :?
