W plate duel fuel transit high idling.

Hi, Traveling into london when had a pop which sounded like it came from airbox and started idling at aprox 2000 revs.
Have had it checked by mechanic, no leaks at inlet, airflow meter working.
He thinks it could be throttle body position sensor. Any idea`s?
