Engine Swap 1994 -> 1997 Supprises?

Hi there, I am just about to swap my tired 1994 2.5 Di lump for a 1997 one.

I have just noticed that the engine mountings are difrent, I assume this means I use the old ones as they new ones dont seem to be the right angle to mate up with the cross member. Is this the case? I would rather use the later mounts if possible.

Are there any other difrences I should know about?

I have the later gearbox but as the 'box fitted is in good condition I would perfer to continue using it, if there are no compatibility issues.

you need to use the mounts from the old engine

you could fit the new mounts but you'd need the chassis parts and the dont bolt strait on - best to keep the full mk4 mounts
