power loss

Hi, I have an s reg transit. I have noticed that once the engine is warm there is a sudden power loss which usually happens in 5th gear after being in it for a while. Feels like it loses some compression or something and it has a different sound to the engine but im no mechanic. Sometimes a drop in gear and a blast in 4th, which is usually essential, sorts it for a while. I was told when i bought it that one of the injectors needs bleeding every so often, is this related ? If not does anyone have any ideas and anyone know a cure for the injector or is it a case of buying a new one. Ths probably sounds thick to some people but like I said Im far from a mechanic.
