draining battery

hi again all.
my t reg transit wont start. i tested the battery and its fine some thing seems to drain the battery. just wondering how would i find out what it is thanks

remove negative battery terminal and connect in series an ammeter or even a bulb pref head light bulb , with all consumers turned off ( as it would be parked) the intensity of the bulb will tell you how much off a drain there is , you can then begin to remove fuses one at a time when the light goes out you will know which circuit has the drain and you can investigate further

Put a multimeter (current setting) across the battery (-) terminal and the (-) lead (disconnect it first) and pull fuses one by one until the drain stops. That will tell you which circuit the drain is on

If pulling fuses doesn't locate the problem, it will most likely be the diode pack on the alternator. In this case, a new alternator is quicker and easier.
