hi guys. in my dads mk5 the heater works. (it gets hoter the fast he gose??) but the blower dosnt work. how can i fix this?

Check the resistor (behind O/S headlight on pre-97 build or under the dash 97 build onwards). Also check the switch.

on both my transits have same probs(p/n reg)it was the turn switch in the dash that melted on both of them not sure why?
but iv temperory fixed them by conecting the 2 bigest wires conected to it (thers 4 wires)using a high heat resistant chock block,they come on constant wen started naw as a temp fix to keep my feet warm ha

hi ,I have the same problem on my Transit yr 1996.

This resistor ,is it like a 3 inch x 1 inch metal block with some holes big holes in it as I found it hanging off/rusted to bits and not connected.
My heater doesn't work unless i'm driving.

if the resistor is duff then the fan will only work on high speed
