Hesitant Running and Stalling

Hi all, got a MK5 Tranny 2.5TD. This morning driving to work every now and again she stalled in between gear change and had to pull over to start it again, she started fine but would stall a few yards up the road again, however got to work and in my dinner hour managed to hopefully drain off water from under the fuel filter as stated in the manual. Since then she hasn't stalled on way home however hshe is intermittent as im driving along and has trouble opening right up, got home and under the bonnet noticed the fuel pump noisier than normal, is this an air/water in fuel problem, hope someone can shed some light, many thanks,

it could well be - i would try draining the filter again!

I would fit a new filter on, filling it first with a good quality diesel treatment like Forte or the like

Just to let you know that I changed the fuel filter yesterday and been out in her and back to normal, running lovely, thanks for reading my thread and thanks for the 2 who answered with advice, great forum,
